The Lowdown:
The factory cup holders in the 3rd gen Tacomas are useless for anything bigger than a soda can. I got tired of my water bottle rattling around or flying into the passenger footwell, so I engineered a fix.
This isn't a cheap drop-shipped part also. I designed, prototyped, and 3D printed this myself to fit specifically in a 3rd gen tacoma center console. It holds 32oz and 40oz bottles (Yeti, HydroFlask, Stanley, etc.) completely secure. For this first beta run I'm using a 32oz Hydroflask I use everyday.
Why I used Carbon Fiber PETG:
Most 3D printed car parts are made of PLA, which melts and warps in a hot truck.
-
Material: Flashforge PETG-CF (Carbon Fiber Reinforced) for stronger prints.
-
Heat Resistance: Tested to withstand summer interior temps (up to 160°F+).
-
Finish: The carbon fiber gives it a matte, textured finish that blends in with your truck's dash—no shiny, cheap-looking plastic.
The Fit:
-
No Rattle: I hand-apply high-density foam strips to the base of every unit. It creates a friction-fit that locks into the console without needing tools or adhesive.
-
No Slip: Your bottle slides in tight and stays put over bumps.
Maker's Note (Please Read):
This is a Beta V1 run. Because these are 3D printed by me (a student) and not injection molded in a factory, you will see layer lines and minor surface seams. This is normal and doesn't affect the strength. You are buying a functional, custom-engineered tool, not a polished ornament. You wont be dissatisfied though this part fits very snug and works well as intended.
